The history of our company mirrors the history of our country. My parents came to America as
children without defined skills, but with very big dreams. Together, they felt that, with lots
of hard work, and a large measure of good luck, anything was attainable. They were very proud
when I enlisted in the US Navy during WWII. During my tour of duty, my mother, who was always
very handy, began sewing lampshades that fit over frames that my father constructed in his
factory which made springs for the bedding industry. From this small cottage business, Murray
Feiss Import LLC was born.
I became involved in the business after studying finance and marketing at New York University. We began importing porcelain figures which we wired and shaded and sold as decorative table lamps. Lamps gave way to fixtures, fixtures to exterior and bath lighting, and the company product line developed in both scope and popularity. However, what was true at the start is still true today. Our goal has always been to combine design, quality, pricing, and on time delivery to all of our customers. It all starts with the design. That’s why we have our own team of graphic, interior and industrial designers creating the most beautiful, efficient and versatile product in the industry. We back those designs with our in-house group of engineers, draftsmen, color, forecasters and quality control experts to guarantee that only the finest materials are used and that design integrity is maintained. These designs are manufactured in our company-owned factories where over 3500 employees meticulously finish and quality test our exclusive product. We watch your bottom line very carefully, because it means nothing if the customer cannot afford the product. There are items in the line that appeal to every budget, and every taste. Business has changed over the years as America has undergone so many transformations. But like this country, Murray Feiss Import remains a strong, independent leader. Family owned for over 50 years, always moving forward, but remaining loyal to the vision and promise made by its founders. |
